19-year-old Ukrainian tennis player Anastasia Lopata shared her emotions from her debut call-up to the national team of Ukraine, and also told how she managed to improve her game:

“I think it’s more about the mental approach,” Lopata says of where her game has improved the most over the past year. The tennis player says that after analyzing the statistics of her three-set matches, she saw that she won only one or two points more than her opponent. This indicator emphasizes the need to play your best tennis at the most important moments.

“Just make yourself believe that you can hit a good 30-40 or even.” [у матчі на рівні коледжу]. You have to believe that you can make a shot at the right moment.

A call to the national team? I was very surprised, of course. I didn’t expect that. It’s very nice to represent Ukraine, I’ve never done it before, so it’s a great opportunity and a great experience.

I’m just trying to remember how I got there. What did I do to be where I am? I just try not to stop there. I always expect myself to do my best.”

Anastasia received a call to the national team instead of the first racket of Ukraine, Marta Kostyuk, who was unable to join the team due to personal circumstances. However, it soon became known that Lopata will not help the blue and yellow either – she broke her arm a few days before the start of training.
