The leader of the world ranking of the APR Carlos Alcaraz from Spain will not play at the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam (Netherlands).

“Alcaraz will not defend the title in Rotterdam. The Australian Open champion decided he needed more time to return to competition after the stress of the past two weeks. We wish Carlos a speedy recovery,” the official press service of the tournament said.

On February 1, Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic in the final of the Australian Open and won the trophy for the first time in Melbourne, collecting the career Grand Slam.

In 2025, Carlos became the champion on the courts of Rotterdam, beating Botik van de Zandshulp, Andrea Vavassori, Pedro Martinez, Hubert Hurkac and Alex de Minaur along the way.

The competition in Rotterdam in 2026 will be held from February 9 to 15, the first seed will be Alexander Zverev.
