22-year-old leader of the APR world ranking Carlos Alcaraz ended cooperation with coach Juan Carlos Ferrero.

“It is very difficult for me to write this post… After more than seven years of working together, Juanqui and I have decided to end our cooperation as a coach and player. Thank you for making childhood dreams come true. We started this journey when I was just a kid, and all this time you have accompanied me on an incredible journey, both on and off the court. And I enjoyed every step with you.

We have reached the top, and I feel that if our sporting paths are to diverge, then only at the top. There are so many memories that come to mind that it would be unfair to leave only one. You helped me grow as an athlete, but above all as a person. And something that I appreciate very much – I enjoyed the process. This is what I will keep – the path we walked together.

Now are the times of change, new adventures and new projects for both of us. But I am sure that we will meet them in the right way, giving our all, as we have always done. And we will always add. From the bottom of my heart, I wish you the best in everything that happens. I am calm because I know that we gave each other everything we could. Thank you for everything, Juanqui!” Carlos wrote.

He himself confirmed the rupture of professional relations Juan Carlos Ferrero:

“Today is a difficult day for me. One of those when it is difficult to find the right words. Saying goodbye is never easy, especially when there are so many moments spent together. We worked a lot, grew together and shared unforgettable emotions. I want to thank you for your time, your trust, for everything that this shared road has taught me, and above all, for the people who have been by my side the whole way.

I take with me laughter, overcome difficulties, conversations, support in difficult moments and the feeling of satisfaction that I got to be a part of something really special. Today ends a very important chapter of my life. I close it with a little sadness, but also with pride and anticipation of what lies ahead. I know that everything I’ve been through has prepared me to be better.

Thank you, Carlos, for the trust, for the effort you put in and for the fact that your attitude towards the competition made me feel really special. I wish you all the best – both in your profession and in life. I also want to thank the whole team for making my job easier all these years. Thanks to you, I realized that work is not only about tasks and results, but also about the people who walk by. Each of you has left a mark on my life that I will never forget.

We have been an incredible team despite all the challenges and I am sure you will continue to achieve great things. I would like to continue this path. And I am convinced that good memories and good people always find a way to cross paths again. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Alcaraz and Ferrero started working together in 2019, when Carlos was just 15 years old. Together with Juanqui, Carlos won 24 trophies at the ATP level, six Grand Slam titles, eight Masters, and also became the first racket of the world.
