The second number of ATP Alexander Zverev (Germany) and the third racket of the world Carlos Alcaraz (Spain) reached the 4th round Australian Open 2025.

Zverev in the round of 16, he beat Jacob Fearnley (Great Britain, ATP 92) in three sets in 2 hours and 1 minute. In addition to Fearnley, Zverev also defeated Lucas Pouille (France, ATP 103) and Pedro Martinez (Spain, ATP 44) at the Aus Open. Zverev’s next opponent will be the winner of the confrontation between Hugo Humber (France, ATP 14) and Arthur Fies (France, ATP 21).

Alcaraz in the 3rd round in four games beat Nuna Borjen (Portugal) in 2 hours and 57 minutes. At AO-2025, Carlitos also managed Alexander Shevchenko (Kazakhstan, ATP 77) and Yoshihito Nishioka (Japan, ATP 65). The Spaniard will fight either against Jack Draper (Great Britain, ATP 18) or against Aleksandar Vukic (Australia, ATP 68) to reach the quarterfinals.

Zverev reached the 4th round of the Aus Open for the sixth time. His best result on the Melbourne courts is the semi-finals, which he reached in 2020 and 2024.

Alcaraz made it to the 1/8 finals of the Australian major for the second time in his career. In 2024, he was eliminated at the quarter-final stage – this is his best result in Australia.

Alexander and Carlos got into the same half of the grid, but in different quarters. Their face-to-face confrontation is possible only in the semi-finals.
