Novak Djokovic (Serbia) [1] – Alejandro Tabilo (Chile) – 7:6 (7:3), 6:1
Djokovic held his third head-to-head match against Tabilo and defeated the Chilean for the first time. In May 2024, Novak lost to Alejandro in the 1/16 finals of the Masters in Rome, and in April of this season he lost to him in the second round of the Masters in Monte Carlo.
This tournament in Athens was previously held in Belgrade, but due to Nole’s conflict with the Serbian authorities, it was decided to move the competition to Greece, where Djokovic’s family also moved.
The 38-year-old Novak reached the 225th quarterfinal in his career at the Tour level. His next opponent will be either qualifier Eliot Spizzirri or sixth seed Nunu Borges.
