Zverev and Cherundolo determined the second quarter-finalist of the Australian Open

The third number of the ATP rating Alexander Zverev reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open 2026, which is held on the hard courts of Melbourne Park.

In the fourth round of the major, Zverev confidently defeated the representative of Argentina in three sets Francisco Cherundolo (ATP 21) in 2 hours and 12 minutes.

Zverev played against Cherundolo for the fifth time and defeated his opponent for the third time.

Last year, Alexander played in the final of the Australian Open, where he lost to Yannick Sinner.

Zverev’s next opponent will be either Daniil Medvedev or Lerner Tien.

Zverev became the second quarterfinalist of AO-2026. Previously, Carlos Alcaraz, who won at Tommy Paul, made it to this stage.
