What does Sinner need to overtake Alcaraz and become the first racket in Paris

Italian tennis player Yannick Sinner (ATP 2) has a real chance to become the first racket of the world according to the results of the ATP 1000 tournament in Paris, France.

By October 28, not everything depended on Yannik. One of the main conditions is the departure of the current leader of the APR world ranking Carlos Alcaraz to the semi-finals. And on Tuesday, the Spaniard sensationally lost to Cameron Norrie in the second round of the Masters.

Now everything is in Sinner’s hands. In order to overtake Alcaraz already in Bersa, Yannick needs to win the last Masters trophy of the season. With his triumph, Sinner would move 250 points ahead of Alcaraz, 11,500 to 11,250.

Sinner will start in Paris on the 29th with a match against the Belgian Zizo Bergs (Belgium, ATP 41). The meeting will start approximately at 16:30 Kyiv time.

Both Alcaraz and Sinner will play one more tournament each in 2025 – both will compete at the ATP Finals, where Yannick will defend his title.
