Life path and trace in sports Stepan Chubenko was born on November 11, 1997 in Kramatorsk in Donetsk region. The guy studied at Kramatorsk comprehensive school № 12, was fond of sports: first engaged in a Greco-Roman struggle, then football, defended the gate of the youth team “Avangard” from Kramatorsk, dreamed of becoming a professional goalkeeper. However, because of heart problems with active sports, I had to stir. Stepan for Donetsk Shakhtar, attended his matches in Donetsk, went with a team in other cities of Ukraine.
With his friends, the young man organized a KVC team that went to perform in different cities of Ukraine. Stepan and like -minded people helped the orphanage in Kramatorsk: he often visited the kids, brought them toys, clothes, books, treats. Stepan said to his girlfriend that when they get married, they give birth to one child and take two more.

In July 2014, Stepan went to a friend to Kyiv. And on July 23 he sat on a train in the capital to return home. He traveled through Donetsk, where he was detained by militants from the so -called Kerch battalion. There were three of them – Vadim Pogodin (Klitschka “Kerch”), as well as Maxim Sukhomlinov (Klitschka “Buba”) and Yuri Mosklev (Klitschka “Zhora”). The reason for the detention, according to one version, was a blue and yellow ribbon on the backpack, and among things-a scarf of the Carpathian football club. According to the other, if you believe the representative of the Donetsk Regional Military-Civilian Administration, Igor Stocosis-because he entered into a dispute with separatists, defending the position of a single indivisible country. Bandits started to beat a minor boy in Donetsk. Then they were taken to Gorbachev-Mikhailivka, which is 22 kilometers from the regional center.
Witnesses said that Stepan was pushed from his feet while sitting tied under the commander. The teeth were knocked out. They led to the river bank. Hands twisted the adhesive tape, the T -shirt – on the head. The sneakers were removed from him before the shooting. Kerchus suspected Chubenko of participating in the Right Sector and the arson of Odessa Vatnyk.
The documents of the investigators stated that “Sukhomlinov was on the edge of the trench. He fired in the area of the nape of a minor Chubenko, who kneel in a trench with his hands tied behind. Considering that after the shot, Stepan gave signs of life, Pogodin took a gun in Sukhomlinov and made at least four shots in the occipital part of Chubenko’s head. ” It happened on July 27, 2014.
Honoring Stepan was posthumously awarded the Order of the People’s Hero of Ukraine and the Order of Courage of III degree.
In 2019, the Kramatorsk Avangard took out of circulation in team # 1-a number that previously belonged to the goalkeeper Stepan Chubenko. Also, since July 2015 until the start of the full -scale war in Kramatorsk, the annual school of memory of Stepan Chubenko was held in Kramatorsk.
On September 23, 2017, a memorial plaque in honor of Stepan was opened at the entrance to the Avangard Stadium in Kramatorsk.

In early December 2021, a monument to Stepan Chubenko was opened in Kramatorsk. Kramatorsk sculptor Igor Nesterenko worked on the sculpture project. Stepan was portrayed in full height with a ball in his hands, in the form of a team with the emblem of Kramatorsk football club “Avangard” and with the first number.
In 2023, Uralskaya Street in Kramatorsk was renamed in honor of Stepan Chubenko.
Three freaks who killed the guy were sentenced to life imprisonment in 2017. Now they were eating. Two of them seem to be hidden in the Russian Federation, and Pogodin in occupied Crimea.
