The match of the group round ended in a draw (30:30), although the guests from Denmark were close to victory. In the last seconds, at 29:30, the ball after a throw by the Dijon handball player hit the post, then the referee who was near the goal, then bounced over the line and was counted as a goal.
After watching the video replay, the refereeing team confirmed that the goal had been taken. The decision was explained by the fact that the referee “did not have a decisive influence on the episode”, and the ball ended up completely crossing the line. Thanks to this goal, the hosts avoided defeat and saved a draw (30:30).
