The International 2025 will be held from September 11 to 14 in Hamburg / Photo – ValveValve announced the annual Dota 2 “world championship” – The International 2025 tournament.The event itself will take place from September 11 to 14 in Hamburg, Germany, at Hamburg’s Barclays Arena. As Valve noted, they returned to their roots, because the very first tournament of The International series in 2011 was also held in Germany, only in Cologne.
The tournament will feature 16 of the best Dota 2 teams from around the world. Participants will be determined through qualifying matches, and the best teams on the pro scene will immediately receive a direct invitation.
The prize fund, as usual, will be filled by the players themselves, buying the Compendium season pass, which will be presented a few months before the event. Last year’s prize pool for The International 2024 was $2.5 million, making it one of the smallest prize pools in the tournament’s history. Then the Dutch Team Liquid became the champion.
We previously reported that in Valve’s failed card game, Artifact, it suddenly took off online, only to die again a few days later. The sudden popularity of the project is associated with the influx of bots.
