– What was the strangest thing you saw in Kyrgyzstan? What really surprised or even shocked?
– After Kazakhstan, there was nothing completely unexpected, because the traditions there are more or less similar. But in Kazakhstan, I was really shocked when a ram was slaughtered near the football field. This is such a ritual of sacrifice. We had two such cases. I didn’t go to the first, but it became interesting to the second, and we came. They just offered a sacrifice near the field, butchered a ram.
– Why didn’t you go the first time?
I don’t know, I just didn’t want to. There is no compulsion – you can go if you want, you can’t if you don’t. I understand that it may be unpleasant for someone, because everything is happening before their eyes. But the second time I became interested, so I decided to go.
– And then what do they do with the mutton? Are they cooking in the dining room?
– They give part of the meat to the needy, and this, in my opinion, is a big plus. They usually know exactly who needs help and share. And for the rest – yes, they cook in the dining room.
