The Hawk on formBarry Hawkins arrives in this semi-final enjoying the best form of his career.
The 45-year-old wiped the floor with Shaun Murphy to the extent he was given a standing ovation by the former world champ.
Hawkins then went on to beat World No1 Judd Trump in the quarter finals.
He said: “I’m just trying to concentrate on what I do that makes me play well.
“I’m over the moon. It wasn’t quite the same performance as against Shaun but I still felt like I was solid enough.
“I took most of my chances when they came along – it’s not easy to beat the world number one.”

Higgins – I’m a fighterJohn Higgins saw off Xiao Guodong 10-3 in the quarter finals, looking in complete control.
He said: “I won tough games at the World Open, coming back from a few frames down.
“It has given me back the belief in my game and my fighting qualities, that I can still do it at this level, that has been the most important thing.
“Big players are winning multiple events, that’s what I need to try to do. I still want to compete with them.
“If I ever lose that I have got no chance.”

Bleedin’ eckKyren Wilson’s bid for glory was derailed by a nosebleed on Thursday night.
The reigning world champion saw his match with Ding Junhui suspended for 30 minutes yesterday as he was treated by medics.
Wilson told ITV: “It was a nightmare.
“I think it was just exhaustion. I went deep in the Players Championship and then had three back-to-back exhibitions after that.
“In hindsight it is probably a good thing. It’ll give me two weeks to knuckle down and get a bit of rest and get ready for the World Championships.”
