There was no sensation. The match between Usyk and Fury was recognized as the best in 2024

On Saturday, January 11, in London (Great Britain), a solemn award ceremony from The Ring magazine took place. WBC, WBO and WBA heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23–0, 14 KOs) was nominated for several awards and won three.

The Ukrainian champion was recognized as the best boxer of 2024. In addition, Usyk’s first fight with the British Tyson Fury won the “Event of the Year” nomination, and the ninth round of that meeting was recognized as the “Best Round of the Year”.

In 2024, the Ukrainian had two fights with the British contender Tyson Fury (34–2–1, 24 KOs), in which he managed to win two. In May, the judges recorded Usyk’s victory by split decision. In December, Oleksandr defeated his opponent by unanimous decision.
