At the end of December, MaiL09 found himself on the Metizport bench. The Norwegian club explained this decision by “difficulties with finding an optimal role for him within our structure.” Such a move came as a surprise to the community, as MaiL09 is considered one of the brightest young talents on the scene.
The player was ranked 33rd in HLTV’s latest eSports Prospects report, with six players in HLTV’s top 20 naming him as their bold bet for a breakout in 2026.
MaiL09’s Alliance debut will take place already on Friday. The team will compete in the $10,000 United21 ESPlay Challenge Season 1 tournament in Norrköping, Sweden. Other competitors include BIG, Johnny Speeds, SemperFi and Metizport.
Current Alliance lineup:
- Simon “twist” Eliasson
- Sean “eraa” Knutsson
- Markus “upE” Johansson
- Arvid “avid” Oberg
- Liam “MaiL09” Tuegel (on loan from Metizport)
- Coach: Simon “Hawk” Wevingren
