Shakhtar Donetsk and midfielder Maikon agreed to the offer of “Atletico Mineiro”. The 28-year-old midfielder is leaving Corinthians and will soon arrive in Belo Horizonte to undergo a medical and sign a three-year contract.
The Brazilian club will receive the player without transfer compensation, but Shakhtar will retain 50% of the economic rights. The source says that Maikon did not consider returning to Ukraine because of the war and felt that Atletico showed more determination in the negotiations than Corinthians.
In the 2025 season, the midfielder played for Timan on loan, captained the team and helped win the Brazil Cup. In total, Maikon played 248 matches for Corinthians, scored 18 goals and won five trophies.
