Ukrainian tennis player Diana Yastremska (WTA 33) completed the WTA 500 hardcourt tournament in Brisbane, Australia.

In the round of 16, the Ukrainian lost to the “neutrals” in two sets Anastasia Potapova (WTA 35) in 1 hour and 38 minutes.

This was the second meeting of rivals at the professional level. The score was 1:1.

Dayana, as before, just hits the ball, which often leads to enforcers or unsuccessful plays. Diana served five games per game.

For Yastremska, it was the opening match of the new season. In the last 10 games, the Ukrainian managed to win only once.

In the 1/8 finals of the 500 in Brisbane, Potapova will play against Kimberly Birrell (Australia, WTA 113), who defeated Emma Navarro (USA, WTA 8) in the 2nd round.

Ukraine will continue to be represented on these courts by Angelina Kalinin (WTA 55) and Marta Kostyuk (WTA 18). Kalinin has already made it to the 1/8 finals, and Marta will only start her performance at the Australian competition on January 1 with a match against Yuan Yue (China, WTA 49).
