“Metalist 1925” calls on “Veres” and its representatives to refrain from populist statements. The situation with the unplayed match of the 15th round of the UPL is already under consideration by the KDC, which will determine the further fate of the match according to the regulations. It is this instance that will establish whether there was a violation of the regulations on the part of our club, whether unforeseen circumstances occurred, and whether it happened due to the fault of the club, as provided by the regulations and disciplinary rules of the UAF.
We draw attention to the fact that public calls to decide the fate of the match through the voting of UPL clubs, and not in the relevant body for the implementation of football justice – the KDC, are manipulative, have no legal basis and violate both the principles of the activities of the bodies of football justice and the activities of the UPL. Currently, the UPL Directorate has transferred the consideration of this issue specifically to the UAF KDC and the matter is within the competence of the UAF KDC, and no absurd one-sided proposals by “Veres” and imaginary changes to the Regulations will in any way affect the consideration of the issue, because the law does not have retroactive effect. Unlike “Veres”, we only ask to act within the limits of regulatory norms and norms of disciplinary rules.
Separately, we emphasize: widespread statements about the alleged lack of power in the stadium, a faulty or missing generator – do not correspond to reality. “Metalist 1925” has never made such official statements. Instead, our club’s statements related to the observance of the sports principle of the competition and the readiness to take on the costs of the logistics of the “Veres” football club, which we do not refuse.
We clearly explained: due to energy problems in Ukraine, a voltage surge occurred at the stadium in Zhytomyr, which disabled the electrical equipment (fuses, machines and other elements of the system). This made it impossible to provide a stable power supply to the stadium both from the network and from the generator – which, we emphasize, was functional and tested on the day of the match, as confirmed by the relevant acts.
All documents and official conclusions from specialized services regarding the situation with the power supply of the “Central City Stadium” of Zhytomyr were timely submitted by “Metalist 1925″ to the KDC, and currently our football club is waiting for a fair decision of the committee.”
Earlier, the sports director of Rivne “Veres” Yuriy Gabovda commented on the situation with this match.
