The indoor journey to the football world began as a goalkeeper. From the age of 11, the Italian has played on the Pyenzi youth team.
In professional football, 18-year-old Filippo made his debut on August 28, 1991 in the Italian Cup match against Modena (1: 1). Subsequently, he also played his first match in series B against Cascorna.
The following season, the Italian, on the right of lease, went to the club C series “Leff”, in which he scored his first goal in his career – at the Siena’s goal. In series A, Indzagi made his debut as part of Parma, where he went in 1995.
Truly Pippo opened in 1997, scoring 24 goals in Series A in 1997 and receiving the title of the best young player of the Italian championship.
After such a successful season, the Italian was redeemed by Juventus. The Indzagi club was scored by 57 balls in 120 matches. Despite its high efficiency, the coaching staff relied on the Frenchman David Trezege, planting the indoor on the bench, after which he decided to leave the team.
The real football house for the Italian was Milan, whose player he became in 2001. Old Senor earned 36 million euros on this transfer, which was a space sum at that time.
He missed the first part of the season for the new PIPPO team because of his knee injury, but after returning he was able to establish a strong partnership with Ukrainian striker Andriy Shevchenko. Together, under the guidance of a new coach Carlo Acholotti, they became a real horror for opponents, obtaining a large number of trophies, among which the two cups of the Champions League became the most prestigious.
In the second victorious campaign of the Champions League in 2007, the Indzagi became the main character of the finals, drawing a double at Liverpool’s goal (2: 1).
Since 2010, the Italian striker has been transferred to the role of a spare player, and subsequently, with a serious injury to the anterior cruciate ligament, was at risk of completing his career. Nevertheless, Filippo kept optimism and was able to return to the field, spending another year in Rossone.
In 2011, Milan decided not to continue contracts with several veterans, including Indzagi. Upon completion of the agreement in July 2012, he announced the end of the player’s career to start the coaching route.
In the international arena for the Italian national team, Philippo spent 57 matches, scored 25 goals, gave 4 assistants and became the world champion in 2006.
In the club career, the Indzagi played 624 duels, scoring 288 scored balls, 53 productive gears and receiving 11 trophies:
- Champions League (2)
- UEFA SUPER CLOOK (2)
- Italy’s Championship (3)
- Italy Cup
- Italy’s Super Bowl
- Club World Cup
- Cup of the Intertoto
Pippo started a coaching career in the Milan youth team (2012/13). In 2014, he became a mentor of the main team of Rossone, but due to unsatisfactory results he was released a year later.
The following clubs of Indzagi as a coach were: “Venice”, “Bologna”, “Benevento”, “Breshia”, “Reedsina”, “Salernitana”, “Pisa” and “Palermo”, which is his current team.
As the indoor coach spent 406 matches: 179 victories, 106 draws and 121 defeat. During this time, he won three trophies – the C series, the B series and the Italian Cup of the League.
Philippo has a younger brother Simon Indzagi, who was also a famous attacker and is now one of the leading coaches in the world.
