The famous coach explained why Shakhtar missed three goals from Niva

Head coach of Ternopil “Niva” Yuriy Wirt exclusively for Sport.ua, he told what helped his wards to achieve a breakthrough today in the control match against Shakhtar and save themselves from defeat, having conceded three times in a row before the break – 3:3:

– I trained the wards not to play from the defense, to meet the “miners” high, to be active on the flanks. Rivalry raged on opposing courses, but individual mistakes led to three missed goals.

During the break, I did not change my tactics, I simply asked my wards to act even more aggressively, faster, to make it difficult for the Donetsk nationals to control the ball, to make them make mistakes. The boys listened and did the almost impossible, equalizing the score. The third goal was particularly impressive, when Bohdan Kozak powerfully scored from a free kick.

One got the impression that Shakhtar’s football players simply forgot that even a control match lasts 90 minutes and paid the price. I think that this sparring should be a lesson for the “Miners” before the official matches with “Ingulets” in the UPL and PSV – in the Champions League. Especially since these teams also bet on attacking football.

After the match with Shakhtar, the players of the first league “Niva” went on vacation, which will last until February 2025.

Earlier we reported that on November 19, at the training base in Vynnyky, Lviv Oblast, Shakhtar Donetsk met with Ternopil Niva.
