Former FIFA referee and authoritative expert Miroslav Stupar exclusively for Sport.ua named the best, in his opinion, Ukrainian football referees according to the results of 2024: 
“In my opinion, Mykola Balakin, Vitaly Romanov and Viktor Kopievskyi are leading the way. These are experienced referees, there were black streaks in their careers, but they worked well on correcting mistakes and now demonstrate a quality level of refereeing.
I would also like to note the progress of Dmytro Panchyshyn. It is no coincidence that these referees are often involved in the maintenance of matches in the international arena.
Although, in general, the level of service of UPL matches by the refereeing corps leaves much to be desired.”
