“The hungry WSOP Paradise champion didn’t even have time to eat dinner before winning”, — write: sport.ua
Zhou, who prefers cash games to tournaments, came to the Bahamas with friends. Prior to this victory, his poker career included only seven cashes in three years, mostly on the Asian Series. Last year, he finished 28th in the inaugural WSOP Paradise series, winning $72,200.
About half of the tournament participants (900 players) received tickets through online satellites. The organizers sought to attract representatives of different generations from all over the world.
After the victory, Zhou gave an unusual interview: “I don’t even know what to say. I keep thinking about the fact that I missed dinner – I was too hungry, but I could not choose what to eat.” He answered briefly about his plans for winning: “Maybe I’ll play more and work on my game to compete with the best.”
In addition to $6 million in prize money, the Chinese player received his first WSOP bracelet.
