– In the new structure of the club management, the position of the sports director remains vacant. Is this further development of Andrei Yarmolenko’s career?
– We very much appreciate Andrew. He has a great experience as a player. He was in various clubs and championships, but today he is a football player. Therefore, it is not very advisable to say when he enters the post of sports director or holds another position. He, together with the team, is focused on achieving sports results.
As far as I know, the President with Andrew had an agreement on his future at the club, but let’s end the season – then we will return to this issue.
– If we talk about Yarmolenko, what is his relationship with Shovkovsky?
– It seems to me that everything has been said for a long time. The head coach publicly said that they have no conflict with Andrew. On the contrary, there is now very important relationship between them, as between the trainer and the key player of our club. Otherwise it cannot be. Therefore, sincerely speaking, I do not even see the point of returning to this case, – said the brief.
This season, Yarmolenko spent ten matches in all tournaments, but failed to score effective actions. The contract of an experienced winger with “white-blue” ends in June 2026.
