Ukrainian tennis player Darya Snigur (WTA 149) won her opening match at the WTA 125 hardcourt tournament in Canberra, Australia.
In the first round, the Ukrainian won a convincing victory over the seventh seed in two sets Tamara Korpach (Germany, WTA 123) in 1 hour and 19 minutes.

Darya played against Tamara for the second time and beat her for the first time. In 2023, Snigur lost to Korpach at the Cluj-Napoca competition.
Daria held the first match in the 2026 season. Next week, she will compete in the Australian Open qualifiers.
In the 1/8 finals of the tournament in Canberra, Snigur will fight with either Liang Enshou or Luisa Stefanini.
