Snigur will play against Liang Enshuo for the first time. In the first game, Daria trailed 2:4, but won four games in a row, starting a comeback.
In the quarterfinals of the competition in Canberra, Daria will compete against the first-seeded Simona Waltert (Switzerland, WTA 88). The meeting between Snigur and Waltert will take place on January 8 at 01:30 Kyiv time.
Snigur and Waltert have a solid history of face-to-face confrontations – the score is 3:3. In 2025, Simona beat Daria in qualifying for the US Open.
For Snigur, this will be the third quarterfinal in her career at the WTA 125 tournament. Last season, the Ukrainian lost at this stage on the courts of Warsaw and Kaldas da Rainha.
