Oleg Gandey, the leader of the Ukrainian short track team, finishes 2024 in the world’s top ten times in the 500 meters.
At the stage of the World Tour 2024/25 in Beijing, China, on December 6, Gandei updated his personal and national record for the shortest distance – 40.040. Thus, in the ranking at the distance of 500 meters, the Ukrainian is in ninth place and is 0.217 seconds behind the leader, Canadian Steven Dubois. It is noteworthy that Dubois also set his best time on the Chinese stage of the World Tour.
It is also worth noting that Oleg Gandey is now also in the top 20 of the historical ranking in the distance of 500 meters by time, in which he occupies the 18th place.
