Central midfielder Maikon, who has no intention of returning to the championship of Ukraine, is on loan as part of the Brazilian club.
“Corinthians” plans to arrange a full-fledged transfer of the 28-year-old football player, but “miners” refuse to negotiate until “Corinthians” settles its debts.
“Corinthians” considers the retention of captain Maicon a priority. The player belongs to Shakhtar Donetsk and is on loan until the end of this year.
However, Shakhtar Donetsk has stated that it will not negotiate with Corinthians until past debts are paid. Any contact between the parties will only resume after the Brazilian club’s board of directors has paid €1 million.
It became known that “Shakhtar” filed a complaint with FIFA against “Corinthians”, demanding to return unpaid loans for players,” the source said.
