Sergey Chuchenko: “Polesie got a bitter lesson for the future”

Yesterday, three of our teams – Shakhtar, Alexandria and Polesie played European Cup matches. The Miners took the mountain in Istanbul over “Besiktas” (3: 2), Alexandrians and Zhytomyr residents gave way to the household arenas of Serbian Partisan (0: 2) and Andor Sant Kolomy (1: 2).

The former Dnipro, Alexandria, Vorskla and Metalist, shared the impressions of these matches with Sport.ua. Sergey Chuchenko.

– Before the match in Istanbul, many noted that Shakhtarev It will have to be very difficult, and yet the Miners managed to win. Everything in deed?

– Undoubtedly. We see that with the arrival of Arda Turan, the game of the Donetsk team has changed a little and now looks more attractive. Again, as in Mircea Lucescu, Shakhtar will make Brazilian legionnaires. In the previous Eurocup round, when the Miners met with Ilves, they scored all six goals at the Finns Gate, which gave everyone to understand who was a shock force in the attack. We saw the same in the match against Besiktas. But do not think that in the victory of our team over the Turks the merit of the Brazilians alone. No. Ukrainian players also made a significant contribution to this convincing victory. I would like to mention Shakhtar for the steadfast in this confrontation, for the focus on the result. Despite the roaring of the stands and provocations from Turkish football players and fans, our team behaved with dignity and did not allow them to doubt our victory. It is worth playing in the second match, because there is no doubt that “Besiktash” will throw every effort to rehabilitate in front of their supporters and win with the right score.

– How do you explain the defeat of Alexandria from Serbs?

– Nothing to be surprised. During the off -season, serious personnel changes took place in our team – both in the coaching staff and in the composition. It is clear that in a month and a half updated, almost half the team will not be able to be perfectly played. It takes much more time. And the loss of performers such as Shabanov, Kalyuzhny, Filippov and others can not but affect the game. In the match with the Partisan, we saw that the Serbs were more effective in realization, and they had more experience.

– The defeat of Polesie from the modest “Santa Koloma” – an accident?

– Rather, a very serious slap, a bitter lesson for the future. Any team has no right to lose teams with much more modest football standards in countries. And “Polesie”, which has been positioning itself for more than one year as one of the strongest clubs of Ukraine and raised! It is difficult to understand what happened to the Zhytomyr after their ball. It would seem that you drive in the account 1: 0, you need to score more. But Polesie seemed to be replaced. Many mistakes, irresponsible actions of a number of players – and we have already seen 1: 2. The rest of the game time showed that the Andorians did not want to give up the opponent, and in the end they brought the game to victory. What is the underestimation of the opponent? Negligence? I can’t say, because I still do not believe: how could I lose the team from Andorra? I believe that after this shameful fiasco Ruslan Rotan should find those levers that will force him to carefully treat his professional and gaming responsibilities and will not happen again. In the Polissya answer match is simply obliged to win. And not just win, but go into the next round of competitions. Otherwise, the failure of the failure will simply not understand the failure.

Earlier it was reported that Rotan commented on the defeat in the League of Conferences.
