Samsunspor coach: “We gave Dynamo one chance, but they didn’t use it”

Head coach of the Turkish “Samsunspor” Thomas Rice assessed the game and the result of his wards in the match of the third round of the Conference League against Dynamo Kyiv (3:0).

“Although there are two words in German, in Turkish I want to express it in three: ‘Great team play.’ We performed well as a team from the first minutes. We managed to play aggressively.

“Samsunspor” played excellent defense. We gave the opponent only one chance to score a goal, which he did not take advantage of. We controlled the game until the end of the match and got an important victory, performing well as a real team. I’m proud of these players,” said Rice.

After two played rounds, “Samsunspor” scored six points out of six possible and occupies the fifth place in the tournament table. “Dynamo” is in the 34th position, the club has no points.

In the third round, which will take place on November 6, the wards of Oleksandr Shovkovskyi will play against “Zrinska” at their nominal home arena, and “Samsunspor” will meet the Maltese “Hamrun” in Turkey.
