Oleksandr UsykWBC president Mauricio Suleiman announced on social media that Saturday night’s winner will receive a commemorative belt in honor of the 50th anniversary of “Rumble in the Jungle.” The legendary confrontation took place in Zaire in October 1974, when Muhammad Ali knocked out George Foreman in the eighth round.
Suleiman posted the news of the award on his social media and called it a belt “designed in the heart of Africa”. The gold and leopard print strap features gold plates that symbolize Usyk and Fury’s professional career.
It was previously reported that due to the WBC rules, Tyson Fury may not be allowed to fight Usyk.
