According to information from the paddock, this configuration is not planned to be used during the tests in Barcelona. The reason is quite prosaic – the level of risk is too high. Although the engineers expected a noticeable increase in power, at the same time, serious doubts appeared about the stability of the engine in racing conditions.
The team fears that the bet on an aggressive architecture may turn into a wave of power plant failures already at the early stage of the season. That is why the version that Red Bull Ford is ready to completely move away from this idea, choosing in favor of a more balanced and predictable solution, is now being heard more and more often.
