On February 11, Ukrainian duelists – Dmytro Mazurchuk and Oleksandr Shumbarets – performed in the first ski duel competition at the 2026 Olympics.
The Ukrainians took part in the personal Gundersen: first jumping from a normal springboard, then a 10-kilometer race.
Norway’s Jens Luros Oftbero won the second gold medal at the Olympics, beating Gundersen by one second.
Austrian Johannes Lamparter became the silver medalist, and Ilkka Heroli from Finland took third place.
But the Ukrainians jumped into the top 30, although only 36 athletes finished.
Dmytro showed Ukraine’s third top result at the Olympic Games in dual wrestling – 27th place. But Oleksandr took the 30th position.
