OFFICIALLY. The Qatar Grand Prix pole was taken away from Verstappen

Red Bull pilot Max Verstappen, who won the pole after qualifying for the Qatar Grand Prix, lost his first place after receiving a one-position penalty.

Verstappen, while preparing for the decisive attempt, drove his warm-up lap too slowly and interfered with George Russell. It is Russell who climbs to first place and will start from pole, while Verstappen will start the race second.

At the last stage, Max already won the championship title, but the fight for the Constructors’ Cup between McLaren, Ferrari and Red Bull is still going on this season.

Verstappen faces a one-place grid penalty following an incident with George Russell during the final part of qualifying in Qatar.
