OFFICIALLY. The ex-striker of Chelsea and the German national team moved to the MLS

“San Jose Earthquakes” announced on the official pages about the signing of a contract with Timo Werner.

The contract with the 28-year-old German forward is signed until June 2028. The transfer from RB Leipzig took place as a free agent.

Since making his professional debut at the age of 17, Werner has scored 154 goals in 451 appearances in all competitions in the Bundesliga and the English Premier League, playing for RB Leipzig (three times), Tottenham, Chelsea and Stuttgart.

As part of Chelsea, Timo won the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup, and with Leipzig the German Cup and Super Cup.

At international level, Werner has 57 caps and 24 goals for Germany, featuring at the 2018 World Cup, Euro 2020 and the 2022/23 UEFA Nations League. In 2017, Werner led the German attack in the FIFA Confederations Cup victory over Chile, winning the tournament’s Golden Boot with three goals and two assists.
