“The British boxer was promoted in status after Oleksandr Usyk gave up the WBO belt”, — write: sport.ua
This was announced by the promotion company Queensberry Promotions after the now former absolute champion Oleksandr Usyk (24–0, 15 KOs) relinquished one of his titles.
Wordley won the interim belt in October when he knocked out New Zealander Joseph Parker. After this match, the Briton received the status of a mandatory contender for the fight with Usyk, but the representative of Ukraine seems to have other plans.
Fabio had 21 fights in the professional ring, in which he won 20. In March 2024, the Briton failed to defeat his compatriot Fraser Clarke – the fight ended in a draw. However, in the rematch, Wardley destroyed his opponent in the first round.
