Natus vincere
The Ukrainian Natus Vincere team went the difficult way to the semifinals of IEM Cologne 2025. It all started with a tense victory over Faze Clan (2: 1), which became a debut game for Makazze November. Next Navi gave way to Mouz with a score of 0: 2, and only the phenomenal game Im saved the team from a complete defeat. In the lower grid, the boys met with Faze again – this time they won without unnecessary dramas – 2: 0, and before they defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas in a trimpov trler.
In the quarterfinals, NAVI confidently beat the finalists of the last Major – The Mongolz. The series ended with a score of 2: 0, although on the map Inferno Ukrainians were one step away from the defeat. Losing 4:10, they were able to gather and compare the score, and subsequently to victory only in the third overtime. The key role in Cambek was played by Aleksib and Makazze, which showed peace and individual class at the most important points.
Spirit
The Spirit team confidently passed the group stage of IEM Cologne 2025, winning three victories in a row and went directly to the semifinals of the tournament. Starting from the second stage, like Navi, the Russian team has left no chance to rivals.
In the first match, Spirit beat Heroic with a score of 2: 0, after which they were confidently figured out of Aurora – another victory with a “dry” account. The most intense for them was the match against Mouz: the team lost one map, but quickly resumed control and closed the 2: 1 series, showing power and flexibility in the game.
Personal meetings
The confrontation between Natus Vincere and Spirit has become one of the most striking in modern CS2. The match of the semifinals of IEM Cologne 2025 will be the fifth meeting of the teams in the last year. In 2025, the teams crossed the IEM Katowice twice, and one more time in the final part of the Blast Bounty Season 1.
