-Migle, Cristiano Ronaldo, celebrates the 40th anniversary. How do you think that a footballer should do to play a good level at that age?
– Look, to reach up to 40 years and continue to play at the highest level is not for everyone. It requires an incredible level of dedication, care of your body as a true professional and, above all, the presence of the victorious mentality that Cristiano has always demonstrated. Discipline in nutrition, rest, special training … All this is important. But what really makes a difference is the desire to continue competing and famine to win.
– Can you tell how Ronaldo was reacted in Portugal? You were even a child then. Did you want to be like Cristiano?
– It was madness. When he first appeared in Sporting, it was evident that he was special, but after that game against Manchester United “all Portugal realized that we had a phenomenon. When he went to United, everyone was talking about him, and during Euro-2004 he was already a idol. I was a child and of course wanted to be like him. It was impossible not to try to copy his fences and penalties playing on the streets.
-If Ronaldo played in the Ukrainian Championship, he would be able to score 30-40 goals per season? If he played for Grand UPL.
– Look, we are talking about one of the largest goleadors in football history. If he had a team built around him, of course, he could reach these numbers. He still scores a lot in Saudi Arabia, and physically he is still impressive. But, of course, it all depends on the team, tactics, as well as the quality of his team partners … But if you give him the right chance, he will not miss.
-At Nottingham Forest, the Nottingham Forest goes in 3rd place, and in Series A Atlenta ranks 2nd. Do you think Alexandria looks like these teams?
– These are completely different realities. Nottingham and Atlenta are playing in top-leagues with extremely high level of competition. But when it comes to the style of the game, how they fight on the field and try to surprise the stronger rivals, “Alexandria” can have the same mentality. Of course, there are differences in individual skills and depth of the composition, but it all depends on hard work and ambitions.
– How do you think in the European Cups, what would be the chances of Alexandria in the group stage of tournaments?
– Everything really depends on the opponents and tournament. If it is a Champions League, then you can meet Madrid or Real Madrid here, you understand that it will be very difficult. But if it is a team from a smaller league, like a Scandinavia Champion or a lower -ranking league team, you can of course dream of a positive result. It can happen in football. The Europa League is always difficult because the teams that leave the Champions League get there, but there are matches in the League of Conferences where Alexandria could undoubtedly compete and score points. It all depends on the draw, of course, but in European competitions everything is possible if you prepare well and believe in your plan of the game. Even in the Europa League, with the right approach, some teams can be surprised.
– How do you appreciate the gathering in Turkey?
– Pre -season training is always related to testing different things, so the results are not the most important. Victory in two matches with a score of 3-0 is a positive sign, but defeat and draw shows what else is working on. I think the team will strive for sustainability, maintaining a high level of game for all 90 minutes. As for Dawn and Shakhtar, these will be difficult matches. Shakhtar always claims the title, and Zorya is also a strong team. We need to be fully concentrated, physically ready and tactically prepared. But we believe in our team and we will be ready to fight for points.
