However, he took part in the 32nd event of the year and raced all the way to the final.

Littler, 18, was able to beat the likes of Adam Hunt, Rhys Griffin and then Stephen Bunting in the semi-final

The Nuke was victorious 8-2 over Dennie Olde Kalter in the final, which has boosted him up the Order of Merit.

He finished the match with a stunning average of 111.

He reacted to the victory on social media by posting an image of the results with the caption “pressure… what pressure”.

The result saw him jump up to 34th in the rankings – earning him a spot at the final next month.

The winner of the Players Championship will pocket themselves a cool £120,000.

This prize money would be enough to see Littler jump above Luke Humphries in the PDC world rankings.

The current world No2 has already earned £1,680,500 in prize money, just £57,750 short of Humphries total.

In 2025, Littler has been in great form yet again and has already won himself £564,500 in ranking money.

This has seen him cut the gap on Cool Hand Luke, who has only won £285,000 by comparison.

Littler’s brutal win over Humphries in the World Grand Prix of Darts was the latest effort to prove he should be the world No1.

However, that victory was followed by a defeat to Ritchie Edhouse in the previous Players Championship event.

He was also beaten in the semi-finals of the World Youth Championship by Beau Greaves.

She ignored his cheeky advice telling her not to take a Tour Card after the shock result.

Greaves is now the fifth woman to do so and could be the latest trailblazer.

Fallon Sherrock, Lisa Ashton, Stacy Bromberg and Tricia Wright are the other four to have earned Tour Cards.
