He took his first steps in basketball in 1965, when he studied at Louisiana Southern University. From there, he was selected in the NBA draft by the Cincinnati Royals.
Love was an interesting and versatile forward who was equally adept at playing with both hands, impressing everyone with his agility.
After brief stints with the Trenton Colonials and Milwaukee Bucks, he joined the Chicago Bulls, where he reached his full potential. As part of this team, Love participated in the NBA All-Star Game three times and twice made it to the symbolic second team of the league. In Chicago, he was assigned the 10th number.
In total, during his career, he played 789 games, in which he scored 13,895 points, made 4,652 rebounds and gave 1,124 assists.
