“The British recognizes difficulties but does not seek excuses in the fight against Pastri”, – WRITE: Sport.ua
After the Emilia-Romany Grand Prix, the British is inferior to Oscar Pastri’s partner of only 13 points in the total standings, although during the majority of the season the Australian was ahead in the races.
Despite the fact that after victory in Australia, Norris had a 23-point advantage, Piastri was able to not only reduce the lag, but also ahead of the partner in the overall standings.
The biggest difficulties for Norris have arisen in qualifications – it made several serious mistakes. After forming a lattice at the stage in Miami, the head of the team of Andrea Stella explained what, according to McLaren, the essence of the problem is that especially affects Norris.
The Italian mentioned the so -called “numbness” of the front axle of the car, which is why the pilots are forced to focus on the clutch they had in the previous circle, not the real time.
When this theory was reminded of Norris, the 25-year-old pilot responded with a smile:
Andrea is always right, ”Lando joked in conversation with journalists.
Even if he was not my boss, he would still be right. Andrea explains things very clearly, and whatever he said – it always makes sense.
However, in a more serious tone, Norris acknowledged that the situation made his season more complex than the past. At the same time, he is not looking for excuses.
This is what I have been talking about since the season: each pilot has its own control style, – said Norris.
But it cannot be an excuse. My work is to go quickly on any car that they give me. Sometimes I have reasons for failure, but I always want to speak as best you can.
There are days when it is difficult for me, and there are – when everything is possible. No racer is never fully satisfied. We all want more – even when we win race or dominate, we strive for an even better result.
This is one of the reasons why this season is more difficult for me than the past. I cannot fully realize my potential. But I know that I need more from the car and myself.
