Head coach of the national team of Ukraine Sergey Rebrov commented on the absence of Ukrainian clubs in the main stage of the Champions League 2025/26:
«No Ukrainian club came out in the Champions League for the first time in 20 years? Of course, I would be happy if all Ukrainian grands were playing in the Champions League, but unfortunately, most of our clubs should undergo 4 rounds of qualification, because our club factor has fallen.
If you know, the war continues in our country. And that’s a problem. It is difficult to play in such conditions. It is important that our clubs play in the European Cups, representing Ukraine. This is very important. I hope and believe that next season our clubs will play in the Champions League. ”
