As it became known, eight applications from national federations, including Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Spain, were submitted to host EuroBasket 2029.

In May 2025, four federations will be chosen to host the 43rd European Basketball Championship.

Estonia and the Netherlands will be able to host EuroBasket for the first time in their history.

“The fact that we received eight official bids to host EuroBasket 2029 is a testament to the huge reach of the main European event. National federations have embraced the well-regarded multi-tournament format not only as an incentive for the significant growth of the competition itself, but also as a driving force for the development of our sport across the continent,” said FIBA ​​Europe Executive Director Kamil Novak.
