The keeper’s bizarre tactic has gone viralRamos, 39, made the shock switch to the Liga MX after more than six months as a free agent.

And he’s enjoyed an eventful few months, culminating in a bizarre stand-off in Sunday’s game with Tigres.

Monterrey were given a penalty early in the second half, with Diego Lainez seeing red for the hosts.

Ramos stepped up to take it – only for Tigres keeper Nahuel Guzman to turn his back on the World Cup winner.

Guzman refused to turn around for almost 30 seconds, glancing over his shoulder while Ramos looked confused at ref Marco Ortiz.

Ortiz wouldn’t blow the whistle for the penalty until red-carded Lainez had left the field, with the striker walking slowly off at the opposite end of the pitch.

When the whistle was finally blown, Guzman leapt around to face Ramos, who had already begun his run-up.

But the bizarre antics didn’t work for the Tigres keeper, who could get nowhere near the powerful penalty as it flew into the bottom right corner.
