The famous Icelandic edition of Vísir responded to the victory of the national team of Ukraine in a match against Iceland in the selection match at the 2026 World Cup.
“Ukraine opened the score in the 14th minute due to the unexpected blow of Malinowski. Then this moment seemed random, because Iceland managed to compare the score. However, at the compensated time, the Ukrainians twice impressed the opponent’s gate. The Icelanders seemed to not believe that the national team of Ukraine was so easily scoring goals – something that even the French did not succeed, ”the newspaper reports.
On October 10, the national teams of Iceland and Ukraine held a match of the World Cup 2026 in Group D. The teams played at the Labardalswellur stadium in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland. The match ended with a score of 5: 3 in favor of blue and yellow.
