This would be two years younger than PDC phenom Luke Littler, who was 17 when he lifted the Sid Waddell Trophy earlier this year.

But Lawrie’s biggest problem was trying to stay away from the insect that was buzzing around his ears on stage during leg two of the seventh set.

Lawrie – who nailed his passage with a 125 Bull finish – averaged 96.33, hit ten 180s and forced his mum to burst into tears in the crowd.

He will now face Dutch No. 1 seed Jimmy van Schie or Belgian alternate Sybren Gijbels in the final.

The Renfrew child, who recovered after going 1-0 down, said: “I don’t know what was more annoying – his scoring or the fly.

“I was going to start boxing with the fly. I’m going to kill it! I want to know what it is.

“I will take battle scars from this. From being 1-0 down and fighting back, it was really tough, especially when your opponent is hitting two treble visits when you walk up to the board.

“In the second set, I was fortunate that Jenson missed a few doubles.

“I thankfully took my chances. If Jenson had taken his doubles, it would have been a completely different game.

“That was my toughest test yet. He’s unbelievable to be honest. I’m really happy to get through.

“I rate him so much. I think he’s a great player. I believe he will get a Tour Card and do more stuff.

Walker, who is only 19, said: “I’m the first person to push him that far.

“That game deserves to be in the history books of the WDF. It was an unbelievable game.

“That’s one of the best semi-finals you are going to see any time soon. Mitchell is a great player and will go a long way.”
