On January 9, a men’s sprint was held in the German city of Arber as part of the fourth stage of the IBU Cup.
110 athletes took part in the race, including four Ukrainians.

The top three were formed by biathletes of the Norwegian national team. Despite two misses on the shooting range, Johannes Dale-Shevdal finished first. The second and third positions were taken by Sievert Guttorm Bakken and Sverre Dalen Aspens, respectively.
Three Ukrainians entered the scoring zone: Denys Nasyko demonstrated the 20th result, Artem Tyshchenko – the 31st, and Ruslan Tkalenko – the 37th.
The race turned out to be unsuccessful for Oleksandr Ponomarenko, who missed seven times at the firing line and took 88th place.
