“I am very happy to be here. It was important for me to wait until a job came along that I thought would be a good fit for me, and that I was a good fit for the club I was joining. That’s how I feel about West Ham.
My conversations with the chairman and board of directors of the club have been very positive and constructive, we share the same values of hard work and high energy to create a strong foundation that can lead to success and we are on the same page in terms of what is needed in the short term and how we want to move the club forward in the medium and long term.
West Ham is a huge club located in the heart of London, with a huge number of fans and excellent support around the world. I saw the emotion that accompanied them winning the Europa League in 2023 and it was clear that this is a club that has what it takes to achieve consistent success both on and off the pitch.
The club has made significant progress in recent years and has secured a very solid foundation for further development. You don’t win a European trophy by accident – for that a football club needs to have a good foundation and the challenge now is to take that and take the next steps, develop a team and a club that the fans can be proud of,” Potter said.
