– Roman Yosypovych, almost fifteen years ago a historic event took place – you were the first head of Chornomorets. As they say, he became a sailor forever. Are there similar emotions now to those you felt in 2010-2011?
– Yes, there is a similarity. First of all, I am glad to be here. For me, “Chornomorets” occupies a very important place in my life. I just love this club and will make every effort to help Chornomorets to reach a high level again.
– During different periods of work in the club, there were also difficult stages. In particular, the year 2022, when the team performed almost without fans, behind empty stands. Now the situation is changing – one thousand, one and a half, two thousand spectators come to the stadium. How important is this support factor to you?
– Definitely yes, it is very important. I have a dream – to see a full stadium again, to win a high place in the championship and the right to play in European cups.
I want all of us to feel the atmosphere many more times when “Chornomorets” plays high-quality, productive football with full stands. When it becomes a real event that brings a lot of positivity, joy – not only from football, but also from life in general. I really want us to have it more than once.
– Can we already talk about the formation of your coaching staff? Who will help you, or is it too early?
– I am not ready to name specific names yet. I need a little more time to finalize everything. I think that literally in three to four days we will be able to officially announce the composition of the coaching staff.
– What can you say about the players of the team: have you already studied the current composition and are there possible personnel changes?
– Currently, I cannot say that I have studied the team and each player in detail. I haven’t talked to anyone in person yet. The coming days will be fully devoted to this work, because this issue requires urgent solutions and the most accurate information.
In my opinion, Chornomorets should have started training about ten days ago. We are already a little late, so we will try to shorten the vacation as much as possible so that the team can gather and start full-time work as early as possible. I just can’t imagine the team being off for two months – that’s absolute nonsense to me.
– While you were not in Odessa, there was a period of work in other teams in your career. How did you come out of this stage and what did it give you professionally?
— Such an analysis cannot be short, it must be deeper and broader in order to be understandable to everyone. But I can say the main thing: at any stage of my career, I constantly try to learn.
In the last period, in the teams where I worked, I again gained a lot of new experience, new knowledge and understanding of processes. I am sure that all this will help me in my future work.
– And in conclusion – your appeal directly to the fans of “Chornomorets”. There is still time before the first official game, but they are already waiting for your word.
— I have a dream, and I believe and hope that many of our fans have the same dream – to feel the atmosphere in the stadium again when it is full and the team plays quality football. This is my dream and, accordingly, our common goal.
I will give my all to achieve this goal. First of all, I want to thank the fans for everything we have already had, for what we have experienced together. A real football atmosphere cannot be created by a team alone – it is born from the interaction of football players, fans and all the people who live in this club. I want us to make football of a high level in Odesa together, – said Hryhorchuk.
