Hearn surprised with a statement about the future of Jake Paul after the fight with Joshua

British promoter Eddie Hearn responded to claims by some boxing fans who speculate that the fight Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua was pretextual.

“Even now people say, ‘Oh yeah, that was definitely a contract fight.’ Some guy commented on one of my posts today, “Yeah, that was definitely a set up.” I reply, “You do realize he broke his jaw in two places?”

He may never be able to box again. Almost no one talks about it. People think it’s simple – they connect your jaw with wires, put in a few screws and you’re on your way. But there were many fighters who broke their jaws and never entered the ring again.

And yes, “well, no, that moment may have been real, but everything else…” – as if we are actors here. Everything was 100% real. There was no strategy, no deal, no script.

Anthony wanted a clean shot as early as possible. Unfortunately, the only time he really landed a clean shot was in the sixth round. And unfortunately, that’s what happened to Jake.

We didn’t want that to happen to Jake. In the end, we wanted to win and finish the battle, but he accepted such dangers and took such risks in battle. We hope he can recover,” Hearn said.
