Format change. The draw for the 2025 Davis Cup Qualification took place

On December 2, the draw for the Qualification took place Davis Cup 2025.

The 2025 Davis Cup Qualifiers will be played in two rounds: Round 1 will be held in the week commencing 27 January 2025 and Round 2 will be held in the week commencing 8 September 2025.

26 countries will participate in the 1st round (14 national teams that competed in the final stage in 2024, as well as 12 winners of World Group I in 2024). They will determine 13 winners who will advance to the next stage of qualification.

These 13 countries will be joined in the 2nd round by the Netherlands, who played in the final of the competition in 2024. The 2nd round will be held in September. Forming 7 pairs, the 7 best national teams will advance to the “final eight”, which will take place in November in a playoff format. In addition to the 7 future winners of the Qualification, Italy will begin its path to the defense of the trophy from the quarter-finals.

In addition, until 2027, the final stage of the Davis Cup will be held in Bologna. This was officially announced by the International Tennis Federation. The Italians are three-time Davis Cup champions (1976, 2023, 2024).
