For the national team of Ukraine, they found a striker who plays in the Premier League

Ivan Getsko believes that Pylyp Budkivskyi deserved to be called up to the national team”, — write: sport.ua

The author of the first goal in the history of the Ukrainian national team, a former player of the “blue and yellow” Ivan Getsko assessed the situation with the forwards in the national team and singled out the representative of Luhansk “Zora” Pylyp Budkivskyi.

– Dovbyk was injured and risks missing the matches of the Ukrainian national team in the selection stages for the 2026 World Cup. Which of the attackers of UPL Rebrov should you pay attention to: Krasnopir, Budkivskyi, Gaiduchyk, Filippov, Klimchuk?

– I would prefer Budkivskyi. He is a strong striker with a powerful shot and a good header, not afraid of a fight. To date, he is the most deserving of a call-up to the national team among the Ukrainian strikers in the Premier League.

As far as I know, Philip has a difficult character, but that is why he is a star, he must have ambitions. Believe me, almost every attacker had complex characters: the same Rebrov, Shevchenko, and me. At one time, I also quarreled a lot with the coaches, – said Getsko.

In the current season, Budkivskyi played 16 matches in all competitions, in which he scored eight goals and provided one assist. The 33-year-old striker scored seven goals in the championship and shares the first place in the ranking of the best scorers.
